Gwendolyn Carrié attended Princeton University and gained a BA Honours degree in International Relations. With no background in finance, she boldly stepped into the world of investment banking through the doors of a major financial institution which saw her rise to the position of Director.

With the premature arrival of healthy twin girls, Gwendolyn realized that it was time to steer away from logical steps and pursue her heart. Having spent 12 years in the world of finance, Gwendolyn Carrié decided to trade in her position as a successful investment banker and dived into the world of fashion as a luxury shoe designer. 

During her time at the bank, Gwendolyn noticed a gap in the market for stylish shoes that would take her into the office and out to town. With her in-depth knowledge of the luxury leather goods market, she found a common thread between banking and design: the importance of details.

Primarily self-taught, she enrolled onto an evening pattern-cutting course at Cordwainers College and carried out various internships at the shoe factory which now produces our shoes. January 2005 saw the launch of Gwendolyn Carrié – an extraordinary luxury accessories brand.
